A short let is when a property is let out to an individual or a company for a short period of time from a few weeks to a few months. This is often an attractive option for multinational corporations seeking to move key personnel into the area for a short period of time, which offers the individual a private home environment for their stay in London without the need for a hotel stay.

For landlords this opens up the opportunity to offer their property on a short let basis, whilst retaining the flexibility a long term rental does not offer.

Last year, the London 2012 Olympics sent demand for short term accommodation in the capital higher than ever before. Although the Olympics is now long gone, demand for short term accomodation remains extremely high.

What are the benefits of a Short term let?

Letting on a short term basis allows a landlord flexibility if you are seeking to only rent your property for a short period of time, or to produce a rental income during a period when the property may be vacant such as if you are going away or even when the property is on the market for sale. It also ensures your property is secure during void periods as the property is occupied.

What do i have to provide the tenant?

Who is responsible for the bills?
